A catalog was printed in the fall of 1804 for the newly constructed gallery building and the paintings on display. It shows the division into eight different rooms, which were organized according to geographical schools. The first room displayed the works of German masters, followed by Dutch, Flemish, and finally Southern European masters from Italy, Spain, and France. By the spring of 1804, it was already clear that the originally planned complete takeover would probably fail – individual sales of paintings followed from April of the same year. This was another reason why the catalog included purchase prices.
